The ministry couple David and Beverly Sedlacek are the happily married co-founders of Into His Rest Ministries, who dedicate themselves to integrating their faith with the service of helping those who are hurting. Their book, “Cleansing the Sanctuary of the Heart,” shares real-life stories of people they met who were hurting from the impact of sin and are now treading the path to emotional healing with the Biblical advice they share. Their book is now off to an exhibit at the Hong Kong Book Fair.
The Hong Kong Book Fair is one of the largest literature-focused events in Asia. Its exhibits will feature a lot of new publications, with many of them undoubtedly about self-help, emotional healing, and stories of hope.
This includes the book by Christian ministry couple David and Beverly Sedlacek. Titled “Cleansing the Sanctuary of the Heart: Tools for Emotional Healing,” the book shares the lessons the Sedlaceks teach in their present ministry. Along the way, its pages also share a number of real-life stories about the people they've met who had “the courage to face the pain of their abuse, addictions, and relational challenges.”
“Cleansing the Sanctuary of the Heart” integrates a lot of principles found in therapeutic psychology, resulting in what the Sedlaceks term “Biblical Psychology.” David has taught Biblical counseling at Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary and holds a doctorate in social welfare. Meanwhile, Beverly has a doctorate in nursing and runs a private practice. Both have extensive experience helping clients through a healing journey.
The pair describe the sanctuary in the book's title as the sanctuary of relationships, including the relationship between God and His children as well as the relationships between fellow human beings. Sin, however, compromises relationships by creating victims, victimizers, the vicious cycle of blame, and more.
The good news is that God is always with people even in the darkest times when sin is creating so much pain in their life. The stories in the book feature many men and women who have come to be honest about themselves, learning to be humble and repentant, all so that they become open to God's comfort and healing.
David and Beverly Sedlacek's “Cleansing the Sanctuary of the Heart: Tools for Emotional Healing” will be displayed at the Hong Kong Book Fair 2023 by the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at their exhibit at booth 1C-B23 and 1C-B25. The book fair will occur on July 19-25, 2023, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, 1 Expo Dr, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. Copies are available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and ReadersMagnet Bookstore. To learn about the Sedlaceks' ministry, visit https://www.intohisrest.org/.
