ORANGE, Calif., Sept. 02, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Astiva Health (“Astiva” or the “Company”), a rapidly growing Medicare Advantage organization serving California’s diverse senior population, announced that it has earned a 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the 2025 plan year and will be applied for member benefits in 2027. This achievement marks Astiva’s second consecutive year earning a 4-star rating in only its sixth year of operations, reflecting its commitment to high-quality, member-first care.

Astiva believes earning and sustaining a 4-star rating at this early stage represents a significant milestone, particularly in California where the Company operates a risk-sharing model that coordinates care through independent medical groups rather than a vertically integrated network. A second consecutive 4-star rating reflects Astiva’s ability to execute its member-first, culturally responsive approach and positions the Company to translate quality performance into greater resources for members. Astiva also ranks as one of few Medicare Advantage plans in California primarily focused on serving diverse senior populations to achieve a 4-star rating or higher.

Additionally, the 4-star rating allows Astiva to continue receiving a higher quality bonus payment and rebate than lower-rated peers, providing additional resources that the Company can reinvest in expanded member benefits, services, and support. By directing those resources toward culturally responsive support, broader benefit choices, and a stronger member experience, Astiva seeks to deepen member trust and satisfaction while supporting sustainable growth. The 4-star rating reflects Astiva’s core philosophy of treating members as autonomous decision-makers in their healthcare journey and its high-quality, comprehensive, community-based care for the diverse members it serves.

Astiva Health Founder and CEO Dr. Tri Nguyen commented: “We believe earning a 4-star rating for the second consecutive year is a significant milestone for Astiva and an achievement that is particularly meaningful given our growth stage, risk-sharing model, and the complexity of the California healthcare landscape. Achieving this level of quality performance year after year is challenging for any health plan, and we believe even more remarkable for a young organization that is still building scale while taking full accountability for member outcomes. We view this milestone not as an endpoint, but as evidence that quality improves when members are treated as informed and autonomous decision-makers, not passive recipients of care. As we expand supplemental benefits and bring our culturally responsive model to new communities, our role is to give members meaningful choices and personalized support so they can lead their own healthcare journeys with confidence.”

The CMS Star Rating system evaluates Medicare Advantage (Part C) and Prescription Drug (Part D) plans each year using a 5-star scale, scoring more than 40 quality and performance measures across preventive care, member experience, access to care, and chronic disease management. Higher ratings indicate stronger plan performance and quality of care.
