NORTH HAVEN, Conn., Sept. 15, 2026
NORTH HAVEN, Conn., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Nominations for the second annual Barkademy Awards are now open! Bark TV, the first multiplatform network with 24-hour-a-day programming dedicated exclusively to dog lovers, is once again shining a spotlight on the cutest and most entertaining pups on the planet. Nominations are open for anyone to upload photos and videos of their dogs at watchbarktv.com through Oct. 19.
Winners will be selected by a panel of celebrity judges and announced on a special program that will air on Bark TV. Judges include Rudy V. and Anthony Rey Vollero of "Grooming by Rudy" and Dr. Lindsay Butzer of "Collections" — both of which air regularly on Bark TV — Sue Delegan, founder of Brutus Broth; Jamie Smith, founder of Interactive Pet Lab; and broadcaster and animal rights advocate Renee DiNino.
Categories for the second edition of the Barkademy Awards will include:
- Cutest (Pawwwww)
- Best Trick (Houndini)
- Bark of the Year (Raise the Roof)
- Celebrity Lookalike (Pup Culture)
- Owner Lookalike (Twinning)
- Best Road Trip Buddy (Calling All Curs)
- Best Pup Cup (Muttstache)
- Best Dive (Whatta Waterdog)
- Best Reunion (I'm Not Curying, You're Curying)
- Working Dog of the Year (Pooch the Clock)
New categories this year include Best Pup Cup, for when things get frothy at the coffee drive-through; Working Dog of the Year, which recognizes pups with a job such as police dogs and farm dogs; and Best Reunion, for those heartwarming videos of service members, college students and more returning home to puppy kisses. Entrants in returning categories such as Celebrity Lookalike will try to upstage last year's winners, which included Perro Caliente, a mini longhair Dachshund with a striking resemblance to Lin Manuel Miranda in "Hamilton."
"Last year the Barkademy Awards was a fun way to celebrate dogs and get viewers of Bark TV more involved with the channel," says Frank Golding, Chief Barketing Officer of Bark TV. "This year we got the zoomies and the awards are going to be bigger and better. We have some amazing things in the works for a reinvigorated Bark TV lineup and the revamped Barkademy Awards are a huge part of that."
Bark TV is a mix of original programming and licensed television series and is available on Xumo Play, Dish, Sling TV and Local Now, and has its own dedicated Roku app. Bark TV is also available in more than 55 million homes across the country as an over-the-air (OTA) diginet channel.
"We've added a bunch of great categories this year, including Best Reunion, Best Pup Cup, Working Dog of the Year and Best Road Trip Buddy," Golding says.
