Bloomberg Electronic Markets Bring Full Programmatic Execution Support to FX Options Trading
PR Newswire
LONDON, Sept. 14, 2026
LONDON, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomberg today launched its FX Options RFQ API on FXGO, its award-winning electronic foreign exchange trading solution. FXGO is part of Bloomberg Electronic Markets, and the introduction of this new offering brings end-to-end programmatic RFQ trading to the buy-side FX options market for the first time.
Building on the popularity of FXGO's recently released Python-API FX Options ticket launcher, buy-side traders can now run the entire RFQ workflow programmatically, from submitting a trade request and receiving competing dealer quotes, to completing the deal, with no manual steps required at any stage.
The launch covers vanilla and exotic FX options strategies across deliverable and non-deliverable currency markets and connects clients to FXGO's multi-dealer pool of liquidity providers through a single API.
Bloomberg introduced its FX Options RFQ API to meet increased demand from systematic hedge funds and asset managers seeking to extend programmatic execution support into derivatives; Bloomberg recorded more than 58% year-on-year growth since August 2025 in FX options volumes on FXGO, with hedge fund activity up more than 75%.
"We've seen rising demand across hedge fund clients on FXGO, and systematic firms are increasingly pushing into FX options, demanding the same end-to-end RFQ automation they have elsewhere in their workflow," commented Kat Furber, Bloomberg's Global Head FX Trading (FXGO) at Bloomberg. "The FX Options RFQ API is FXGO meeting that demand, giving buy-side firms complete programmatic execution support across the entire trade lifecycle, backed by the full depth of our global liquidity."
Bloomberg's FXGO is the premier multi-bank FX trading solution providing access to deep liquidity through real-time pricing, powerful workflow solutions and sophisticated analytics for price takers across the globe to negotiate FX transactions with their bank relationships. FXGO provides streaming or RFQ for spot, outrights, swaps, NDFs, deposits, precious metals and options across a multitude of currency pairs and tenors, along with access to algorithmic order solutions offered by more than 30 top providers. FXGO also integrates with multiple third-party order management, treasury management and accounting systems and facilitates straight-through processing (STP) in a variety of flexible formats, creating a seamless and efficient investment workflow.
