When memory fades, love remembers.

“Lyndon's Fog” takes readers on an unforgettable journey through the emotional landscape of Alzheimer's disease. With courage and compassion, this memoir invites us into the raw, beautiful, and often unpredictable moments of caring for a loved one whose memory is slowly slipping away. It is a story of loss, yes, but also of laughter, grace, and unwavering love. Through every chapter, the author shows us how even in the hardest seasons of life, tenderness can rise, and hope can be found.

Author Carolyn Bagnall unveils her moving memoir “Lyndon's Fog: Journey Through Alzheimer's,” a powerful tapestry of real-life stories that capture the emotional rollercoaster of loving and caring for someone with Alzheimer's disease. Written from the heart of a daughter, mother, and caregiver, this book speaks to millions navigating the challenges of memory loss in their own families.

With an unflinching voice and generous compassion, Bagnall stitches together vignettes of joy, sorrow, humor, frustration, and healing. As she guides readers through a journey filled with both heartbreak and hope, she reveals that even in the most difficult moments, God's presence can be felt and love can prevail.

“Lyndon's Fog” explores themes of emotional instability, loss of identity, unconditional love, and the impact of mental health within families. But it is also a book about laughter, connection, and the deep, messy beauty of family life. The author gently invites readers to cry, smile, and most importantly, to remember that they are not alone.

“These treasured stories are crafted into a beautiful authentic tale of this family's life which will lift your spirit to great heights of tenderness and hold your heart when it is breaking,” Bagnall shares.

Carolyn Bagnall writes from personal experience, belonging to the “sandwiched generation” that cares for aging parents while raising teens. After eight years of caregiving and coping with a mentally deteriorating father, she transforms real struggles into literary healing. Her candid storytelling offers strength and solidarity to readers who may be walking the same path.

This book offers more than just a glimpse into a family's journey through Alzheimer's. It serves as a lifeline for those caught in the storm of memory loss and emotional upheaval. “Lyndon's Fog” reminds us that amid the confusion and heartbreak, there is still laughter, faith, and unbreakable love. Carolyn doesn't sugarcoat the pain, but she shows us how grace shows up in the mess. This book matters because it brings light to the often-silent struggle of caregivers and loved ones, validating their experiences while offering hope, healing, and the gentle reminder that even in the fog, we are never truly alone.

About the Author

Carolyn learned to paint through this journey and not only are the chapters recorded in story form, but art pieces accompany many of the chapters to enhance the narration. The Painting on the cover was chosen to be displayed for several months as one of the top one hundred paintings in the world in an art contest at Art Comp held in Kellogg Lane before she completed the manuscript. The black and white painting could initially be disheartening but the one window of light gives hope to caregivers who may be feeling as lost as the loved one wandering around the city.
