SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- CounselingSchools.com proudly announces Hannah Hodge, a student at Johnson & Wales University – Charlotte, as the winner of the $2,500 CounselingSchools.com Scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year. This marks the first year of the program, created to support students pursuing counseling and psychology degrees in accredited programs across the United States.

CounselingSchools.com announces Hannah Hodge as the winner of the CounselingSchools.com Scholarship

Hannah's journey into counseling was sparked by a curiosity about human behavior and strengthened by early academic experiences in psychology. "I've always been intrigued by how people operate and what drives their behavior. My first psychology professor was incredible and confirmed that this was the right path for me," said Hodge.

"For me, the scholarship is heaven-sent. Even with other awards, I still have out-of-pocket expenses, and this scholarship does wonders. It allows me to focus more on my studies instead of worrying about working multiple jobs," she added.

Hannah is already distinguishing herself at Johnson & Wales, where she received the Pioneers Award from her department for her academic achievement and ability to balance her coursework with being a student athlete. Looking ahead, she hopes to specialize in children's counseling, combining her love of psychology with her passion for working with kids.

"The demand for mental health services is growing rapidly across the country," said Barry Franklin, a representative at CounselingSchools.com. "We're honored to support Hannah as the first recipient of our scholarship program. By investing in students like Hannah, we're helping to ensure more compassionate, skilled professionals enter the counseling field at a time when they are needed most."

The scholarship was open to students enrolled in accredited counseling and psychology programs who had completed at least one semester of study. Applicants were asked to reflect on their motivations, career goals, and educational journey. The selection process prioritized depth, originality, and commitment to the counseling profession.

CounselingSchools.com is committed to providing resources, guidance, and support for students pursuing counseling careers, with the goal of strengthening the future of the mental health profession.
