NEW YORK, USA, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- David Weild IV, Natalie Dawson and Todd Bertsch will lead an educational conversation exploring how private capital markets work, why companies remain private longer and what investors should understand

KoreInside, today announced the speaker panel for its upcoming educational webinar, “The Market You Don’t See: Where Capital Really Moves,” taking place live on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

The live conversation will feature David Weild IV, Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Weild & Co.; Natalie Dawson, Co-Founder and President of Cardone Ventures; and Todd Bertsch, Chief Business Officer of KoreInside. Bertsch will serve as the host and moderator while contributing insights drawn from more than two decades of experience across public and private capital markets.

The webinar is designed to help investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders better understand the extensive capital market that operates beyond publicly traded stocks, traditional real estate, and other widely discussed asset classes.

While public markets dominate financial headlines, enormous amounts of capital are raised and invested through private transactions. The discussion will examine how the private capital markets developed, why they have become increasingly important to growing companies, what investors should consider before participating, and how technology and regulated infrastructure may shape the market’s future.

“This webinar is about education and understanding, not promoting an investment or selling a product,” said Oscar A. Jofre, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of KoreInside. “Most people hear about the public markets every day because they can see them moving on a ticker. The private capital markets are less visible, yet they play an essential role in financing companies, creating jobs and supporting economic growth. We are bringing together three highly experienced voices who can explain this market from the perspectives of capital formation, entrepreneurship, investment banking and market infrastructure.”

Three Perspectives on the Private Capital Markets

David Weild IV will bring a historical, regulatory, and market-structure perspective to the discussion. Weild is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Weild & Co. and previously served as Vice Chairman of The Nasdaq Stock Market, where he led the Corporate Client Division with responsibility for Nasdaq-listed companies.

During his time at Nasdaq, Weild created the Market Intelligence Desk, the Corporate Services Network, and the dual-listing strategy that attracted companies including Charles Schwab and Hewlett-Packard to Nasdaq.

Widely recognized as an expert in capital formation and market structure, Weild is regarded by many as the father of the JOBS Act for co-authoring studies that identified the long-term structural decline in the IPO market and the number of publicly listed companies. He has testified before the United States Congress, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the European Commission. Throughout his career, he has participated in managing more than 1,000 public equity offerings.

Weild will help explain how the private capital markets evolved, the conditions that contributed to the JOBS Act, why smaller companies increasingly turned to private capital, and what remains to be addressed in the relationship between public and private markets.

Natalie Dawson will bring the entrepreneur, business owner, and operational-growth perspective. Dawson is the Co-Founder and President of Cardone Ventures, a company that reports generating more than $250 million in revenue and $75 million in EBITDA during its first five years, without startup capital or external funding since its inception in 2019.

Her work focuses on people management, organizational performance and helping entrepreneurs achieve their personal, professional and financial goals. Dawson is also the best-selling author of TeamWork: How to Build a High Performance Team and host of the Keep It Brief podcast.

Dawson will discuss why businesses seek capital, when raising outside capital may or may not be the right decision, what companies need to have in place before pursuing investment and what investors should examine when evaluating founders and management teams. She will also address the difference between a compelling business story and a company that is genuinely prepared to scale.

Todd Bertsch will host and moderate the conversation while providing an investment banking and private-market infrastructure perspective. Bertsch is a venture partner and investment banking executive with more than two decades of experience supporting growth across public and private markets.

His career began on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, where he helped operate and later sell a family-owned brokerage business to Bear Stearns. At Bear Stearns, he led equity middle markets before moving into senior leadership roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Cowen Inc. Throughout his career, Bertsch has worked with institutional investors, issuers and growth-stage companies to structure and execute capital-market strategies.

In his role as Chief Business Officer of KoreInside, Bertsch works across the private capital-market ecosystem and the regulated intermediaries that support capital formation. During the webinar, he will connect the company, investor and market perspectives while explaining what happens behind the scenes as a private-market transaction moves from investor identification and compliance through payment, escrow, closing, ownership records, shareholder communications and potential liquidity.

Understanding Where Capital Really Moves

The webinar will explore several fundamental questions:

  • What are the private capital markets, and how significant are they to the broader economy
  • Why are companies remaining private longer?
  • What did the JOBS Act change for companies and investors?
  • How do RegD, RegCF and RegA+ fit into the private capital landscape?
  • When should an entrepreneur consider raising outside capital?
  • What separates a scalable company from one with only an attractive story?
  • How should investors evaluate management, valuation, risk and liquidity?
  • What roles do broker-dealers, funding portals, transfer agents, banks, custodians and other regulated participants play?
  • How could AI, digital identity, tokenization, data and secondary markets affect the industry’s future?

The speakers will also address the risks associated with private securities, including limited liquidity, longer holding periods, valuation challenges, reduced access to information and the possibility of losing the entire investment.

“Expanding access must be accompanied by education, transparency and the infrastructure needed to support investors throughout the entire ownership lifecycle,” Jofre added. “Putting an offering online may digitize the capital-raising process, but that alone does not create an integrated private capital market. A functioning market requires trusted participants, regulatory compliance, reliable ownership records and ongoing support after the investment has closed.”

The session will conclude with audience questions and a final discussion about what every investor should understand before considering the private capital markets.
