TBG Managing Principal, Elaine Kearney, is among only 50 leaders nationwide selected in 2025 for the prestigious ASLA Council of Fellows
SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 14, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- TBG Partners, the visionary Texas-based landscape architecture and urban planning firm, is proud to announce that Managing Principal Elaine Kearney has been elevated to the prestigious Council of Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
Bestowed upon only 50 professionals nationwide in 2025, this honor recognizes individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the profession and to society at large. Kearney was formally inducted at the ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture, on October 12 in New Orleans, joining an esteemed class that represents the highest level of achievement, leadership, and service within the field.
Kearney has made a significant impact on the field of landscape architecture, shaping its growth and visibility at the local, regional, and national levels with a strong focus on advancing equity within the profession. Since 2017, Kearney has also been instrumental in building TBG's San Antonio office, leading her teams in creating ecologically sensitive landscapes that connect communities. Her sophisticated design perspective and inclusive approach to partnerships have guided notable projects including Dignowity–Lockwood Park, the Texas Organ Sharing Alliance Headquarters and Memorial Garden, and numerous trail and park projects in the South Texas Medical Center, among other public, private and P3 developments across the region.
"As a landscape architect, I view my work as both a creative practice and a civic duty. I strive to shape resilient, beautiful places rooted in their ecology which respond to the needs of people and communities. From parks and memorials to campuses and urban centers, my goal is to create spaces that heal, connect, and inspire," said Kearney, Managing Principal at TBG. "I am deeply grateful to have been elevated to ASLA Fellow, an honor that reflects not just my own journey, but the collaborative efforts of colleagues, clients, and communities I've been privileged to serve. Through both my professional work and nonprofit service, I remain committed to broadening access, advancing equity, and contributing to a healthier future for people, place, and planet."
Beyond TBG Partners, Kearney also holds leadership roles in several nonprofit organizations. She currently serves as President-Elect on the board of the National Landscape Architecture Foundation, where she formerly served as VP of Development. In her work with the foundation, she has helped secure millions in funding, including over $2.5 million to launch IGNITE, a program supporting minority students. In recognition of her leadership Kearney has been elected President of the Landscape Architecture Foundation for 2027. As Vice President of the San Antonio Botanical Garden, she oversaw the creation of a forward-looking 10-year master plan focused on conserving South Texas' native plant life. She also served as a citizen adviser on the Linear Creekway Parks Advisory Board, which advocates for the more than 100 miles of trails which make up the Howard W. Peak Greenway Trail system. Her contributions have been recognized with the 2022 Texas ASLA Service Award.
"Elaine's elevation to ASLA Fellow is a tremendous recognition of her impact on the profession and her unwavering dedication to people and place. As Managing Principal, she has been instrumental in growing and shaping our San Antonio office, leading with both vision and humility," said Bill Odle, President at TBG Partners. "Through her service on our Board of Directors, her design leadership, and her mentorship of the next generation of practitioners, Elaine has advanced TBG's mission while also advocating for the value of landscape architecture across Texas and beyond. We are incredibly proud of her achievements and grateful for the inspiration she brings to our firm, our clients, and our communities."
