Wilmington Dermatology Center (WDC), a nationally recognized medical and cosmetic dermatology practice, is expanding its advanced treatment offerings with Acorn YOU™ Secretome for hair restoration while continuing its involvement in clinical research supporting emerging aesthetic technologies, including the investigational neuromodulator Relfydess™.
Led by board-certified dermatologist Rosalyn George, M.D., Wilmington Dermatology Center combines medical expertise, aesthetic experience and clinical research to give patients in southeastern North Carolina access to innovative, evidence-informed treatment options.

“Dermatology is constantly evolving, and our responsibility is to carefully evaluate new technologies and understand where they may genuinely benefit our patients,” said Dr. George. “Whether we are studying a new injectable or introducing a personalized regenerative option for hair loss, our focus remains the same: patient safety, sound science and natural-looking results.”
Now available at Wilmington Dermatology Center, Acorn YOU™ Secretome is a personalized, cell-derived treatment designed to support healthier, fuller-looking hair.
The process begins with the collection of a small sample of the patient’s intact hair follicles. Stem cells isolated from those follicles are cultured in a controlled laboratory environment and used to create a personalized secretome—a concentrated mixture of the naturally occurring growth factors, exosomes, peptides and signaling molecules released by the patient’s own cells.
Unlike treatments involving donor-derived materials, the Acorn product is created from the individual patient’s biology. The resulting personalized product is used as part of a customized treatment plan intended to support scalp health, existing hair follicles and natural hair-renewal processes.
Acorn may be considered for men and women experiencing concerns such as, thinning hair, early or progressive hair loss, reduced hair density, age-related changes in hair growth, and increased shedding or weakened growth cycles.
Depending on the patient’s condition and goals, Dr. George and the WDC team may recommend Acorn independently or as part of a broader hair-restoration plan involving platelet-rich plasma, prescription therapies or other complementary treatments.
Because hair loss can be influenced by genetics, hormones, inflammation, aging, nutrition and underlying medical conditions, every WDC patient receives an individualized evaluation before treatment is recommended.
In addition to expanding its regenerative hair-restoration services, Wilmington Dermatology Center remains actively involved in clinical research examining emerging dermatologic and aesthetic treatments.
Dr. George participated in clinical research involving relabotulinumtoxinA, known internationally by the brand name Relfydess. Developed by Galderma, Relfydess is a ready-to-use liquid neuromodulator studied for the temporary improvement of moderate-to-severe frown lines and crow’s feet in adults.
Galderma’s Phase III READY clinical development program enrolled more than 1,900 participants. The company reported that some study participants noticed an effect as early as the first day following treatment and that improvements were sustained for as long as six months in some participants.
Relfydess has been approved in 33 international markets and launched in more than 20. It remains investigational and unavailable for treatment in the United States.
On July 1, 2026, Galderma announced that it had received a Complete Response Letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration concerning manufacturing-site inspection observations and analytical-method optimization. According to Galderma, the FDA did not identify deficiencies involving the safety or efficacy portions of the application, and the company intends to continue working toward a potential U.S. approval.
Wilmington Dermatology Center will continue monitoring the regulatory process. No appointment, waiting-list placement or mention of Relfydess constitutes an offer of treatment unless and until the product receives FDA approval and becomes commercially available in the United States.
“Participating in clinical research gives us direct insight into how an emerging treatment performs, how patients respond and where it may eventually fit within aesthetic practice,” Dr. George said. “That experience helps us evaluate innovation thoughtfully instead of simply adopting something because it is new.”
Dr. George is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow and Media Expert team member of the American Academy of Dermatology. After graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Virginia Tech, she earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She later served as chief resident at Penn State University Hershey Medical Center.
Her professional experience includes serving as a national trainer and Facial Aesthetics Board member for Allergan Aesthetics, the maker of BOTOX® Cosmetic and JUVÉDERM®. She has also served as a speaker, trainer or professional partner for organizations and brands including Allergan, Galderma, Cartessa, Merz, Solta Medical, SENTÉ and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Wilmington Dermatology Center has been recognized among the top 1% of Botox Cosmetic practices nationwide. The practice offers medical dermatology, injectable treatments, laser and energy-based procedures, body treatments, regenerative hair-restoration options and clinical research opportunities.
“Experience matters in aesthetic medicine, but so does remaining curious,” Dr. George added. “Our patients benefit from a team that has extensive experience with established treatments while continuing to study what may come next.”
Patients interested in Acorn hair restoration can schedule a complimentary cosmetic consultation with Wilmington Dermatology Center.
